Although almonds are commonly referred to as a nut, they are actually teardrop-shaped edible seeds that are the fruit of the almond tree. Almonds contain vitamins, minerals, protein, and fiber, and so they may offer a number of health benefits. Almonds are usually imported into UK from USA, Spain and Italy though USA is the largest exporter on Almonds in the world.

Almonds are included as a good source of protein among recommended healthy foods by the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA). A 2016 review of clinical research indicated that regular consumption of almonds may reduce the risk of hearth disease by lowering blood levels of LDL Cholesterol
